Description
Polycarbonate Sheet, to size and shape.
Clear polycarbonate Cut Plastics, highly regarded for its strength and extreme impact resistance it is 90% optically clear and half the weight of glass.
Polycarbonate sheeting is Class 1 fire rated so a great alternative to Acrylic for Colleges, Schools hospitals or airports where safety is vital.
The material performs well to cold bending, however, if heat bending the sheet would be required to be dried in a oven to prevent moisture from forming bubbles.
Bonded with the correct solvent adhesives, machined to shape and drilled.
Although Clear Polycarbonate Sheet is not totally unbreakable, it is estimated to be around 250 times stronger than glass of the same thickness and currently the toughest plastic on the market.
Two major Brand names for polycarbonate sheet are Macrolon and Lexan.
Without getting too technical and for our purposes here, they are all pretty much the same material but it is important to mention that each brand will offer a range of differing grades for differing applications.
If you need a clear plastic sheet for the most demanding of applications and environment then clear polycarbonate sheet is the one you should choose.
